Inter Campus

Dear Inter Fans,

the CC Inter Club are now in the eighth consecutive year of close collaboration with Inter Campus, their non-profit organization which has been carrying out flexible and long-term social and cooperation interventions since 1997, in 30 countries around the world with the support of 300 local operators, using the game of football as an educational tool to bring smiles back to needy girls and boys every year.

The destination country this season is Angola and during the celebrations for the scudetto very important funds have already been raised through a charity auction organized by the Inter Clubs of Milan city.

Inter Campus has been present in Angola since 2008 in collaboration with Polidesportivo Dom Bosco, the sports-educational project of the Salesian Fathers in oratories, schools and family homes for street children. Together, we have collaborated effectively to prevent youth crime, child prostitution and gender discrimination in disadvantaged areas such as the Lixeira ("rubbish dump") favelas of Luanda and Benguela and in the neglected rural areas of the interior (Dondo, Calulo, Altofina).

Today 920 children (a quarter of which are girls) participate in this project, which has also involved families and local communities in these areas, in need not of spot help but of a stable social project. Among the many results obtained and witnessed by the local partners, one that gives us particular pleasure: the 45 coaches/educators are almost all former Inter Campus children who are now grown up and look after the little ones: the game distances us from the street and its dangers and makes grow together while having fun. Over the next 15-25 August the Inter Campus delegation will make its usual six-monthly visit with clinics in theory and practice for boys and girls, educators.
